Sensi Products
This project was to solve a problem identified during an interview with a mother and child on concerns with school work and anxiety. The problem to solve was how to bridge the gaps in communication between not only guardian and child but with the school system, so children can reach their full potential.

DEMORE´ HOFFMAN-BATEY
Hello! Welcome to my portfolio.
Here, I have compiled works from previous endeavors as well as the few years I've spent working for an advertising agency which specifies in recruitment for clinical trials. Unique... I know. That said, on certain projects, you will notice greek copy or replacement words for when a trial name or other classified information was once shown. I hope this won't prove to be too distracting from the conceptual messaging & aesthetic I am showcasing. Thanks for showing up and enjoy!
The Journey
(incase you were curious)
An Artistic Beginning
I’ve loved creating art since I could walk. One of my first memories was realizing our arms and legs came out of our bodies instead of our heads so I started adding little bodies to my once simple circle stick figures. I became good at copying what I saw. Extremely good. This turned into a nice little identity I could hone in on and call my own. “I am good at art so it’s what I shall be and do.” But even then, I knew there was more to me than drawing and painting, I just wasn’t sure how to find that part.
The Conceptual Shift
My Senior year of high school I decided to apply for the Visual Communications program at the University of Kansas where I thought I could learn to sell my skills in a more corporate setting with a salary instead of the once in a blue moon painting paycheck. KU kicked my a** but in the most amazing way possible. I struggled, but I conquered. I built my creative muscle from wet noodle status to the Rock. And in the midst, I had shifted from my beautiful safety net of aesthetic, to full on creative, conceptual, problem solving. I became obsessed with human centered design and designing for impact. I was one of those design grads who thought good design could change the world. (And I still like to think that.)
The UX/UI Intro
I was beyond excited when I landed a Junior Web Designer position after graduation. Here, I learned to use scientific methods of experience design to hypothesize, create web experiments for conversion, analyze results, and then solve new problems all while tackling the world of HTML, CSS & Javascript. The idea of all of this was complete heaven. I loved the idea of diving headfirst in a world I had little to no experience in, yet I got to solve creative problems all day!
Creatively Starved
I would’ve been in heaven if I only had enough to do. Unfortunately, it was a growing company and I wasn’t replacing anyone, just an addition they thought they needed at the time. Chomping at the bit to create and so hungry to learn with no real challenges to fully lean into, I became antsy and a little frustrated. When the company ended up going under just 6 months later it was my opportunity to find a more creative, fast-paced position which is exactly what I did. I have been at my current company ever since, happily solving creative problems and eventually being promoted to their Associate Art Director where I can be even more involved with clients & the conceptual process.
Still Hungry...
I am beyond thankful for my journey and all I have experienced & learned so far. However, I am always hungry for more growth and opportunity. I want to expand and challenge myself to new creative heights whatever they may be. If you’ve gotten this far in my story, have taken a gander at some work, and you’re curious of how you may fit into my next steps, please feel free to reach out and we can chat!
